The Gidon project struck me as an imperative. To tell the story of one brave man who has endured and thrived and is still living the Israeli experience in all its fascinating contradictions. Living in Israel I have met many people of Gidon’s generation who live seemingly mundane lives but if you talk to them their stories of near annihilation, wars, poverty and also their idealism and optimism can astound, sadden and profoundly affect the listener. How wonderful that the Gidon project is collaborative bringing together so many caring individuals from afar to tell the story of one individual with a passion for a life well lived.
